During the Magneto-Optical Recording International Symposium (MORIS) was given online talk dealing with Optical and magneto-optical properties of CoBALT doped and reduced CeO2 epitaxial films.
Abstract: Dilute magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are promising for spintronic applications due to their room temperature magnetism even for vanishing concentration of magnetic atoms. Among the DMS, CeO2 is transparent rare-earth oxide, which exhibits satisfactory thermal stability, low density of interface states and compatibility with silicon technology [1]. In this work, we present a systematical characterization of optical and magneto-optical (MO) properties of epitaxial thin films of cobalt doped and reduced CeO2(111) on Pt (111) bulk substrates in spectral range from near-IR to UV. Obtained results are discussed in terms of lattice strain, density of structural defects and composition.
